Armsfull*

I hold in my arms untold beauties, like flowers in every stage of living–

some yet to bloom, some just blooming, some long since bloomed,

some blooming down, some wilting, some dying, to bloom no more.

All, ALL are gifts.

The latter-named perhaps more beautiful

in that they require more light to see their beauty.

I hold them all, delight in ALL,

nuzzle my nose down inside, to inhale it all,

from buds to cracklin’ browns.

ALL of life is a gift.

I will say it again…ALL.

Love your picture! The post made me cry as I haven’t been appreciating ALL the blooms but instead have been wanting to toss out all the less perfect ones and the dying ones grabbing at the idea I won’t have a bouquet if I keep anything but new blooms. I needed this “little talk”.

Oh thank you for your lovely honesty Timaree! I do think it is so hard to “keep” the wilting and dying flowers. So hard to see anything beautiful when we’re going through them. But some of my own “cracklin’ browns” hold a sweet aroma for all that I learned and am learning through them. We all need this from time to time.
