Be All In! Right Where I Am

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Due to my very FULL life 😉 I have not been able to draw on Fridays with my friend Debbie for a few weeks. I miss it so much! And today is no exception…I will miss being there, tracing the lines of the autumn flowers in the beautiful setting at the Ciener Botanical Gardens.

But I will be with the sweetest of T1D kids, my beautiful daughter Maddie as we go to the Joslin Diabetes Center for a check up with Kathie Cooper, Diabetes Educator Extraordinaire. The Botanical Gardens can wait.  I will relish this time with my rising 6th grader, as there will be many Fridays coming up where she will be in a classroom and I won’t be able to spend time with her.

Note: This is another key to Artful Living!

I am tired of wishing I were somewhere else, doing something else,

when I could embrace what I have right in front of me, and find joy and beauty there!

*You do know, that I am preaching to myself more than I am to any of you!

But since you’re here, can I hear an “Amen!” ? 🙂

Amen Sister! I too am one that wishes their life away, always wanting to be where I am not instead of embracing the moment I’m in. Thank you for the reminder to be present. Today is my birthday and I am vowing to be present, find joy and embrace each day forward.
Jen, I love your lilies and the way you add color to the background. Would you consider doing a tutorial on how to achieve these wonderful backgrounds? I really admire your style.

All I can say is I sooooo enjoyed the time I got to spend with my mother while waiting for my eye appointments as a kid. It was wonderful to have some one on one attention from her as she had 5 other kids and worked full time. We used to play games like hangman, tic-tac-toe and connect-the-dots (to make the most squares). Sometimes we would go to lunch after. My mom died when I was just 24 so it makes the memory more dear. We always want to make our lives fuller than full. Enjoy your time with your daughter and don’t feel guilty for wishing you had enough time to also be with your friend. Such is an overflowing and abundant life!

Amen. You are turning an doctor time into a mom says I. LOVE YOU TIME with fun and laughter and touch. What better place to be. I do this to for my 15 year old with ADHD visits and her teem mental health visits. Just another way to love other people in our lives. It also teaches my girl how to positively react to others in need. Love a mom who faithly reads your life uplifting and changing blog. Thank you for all your help through it.
