Growing Up

MaddieattheFalls

I drew the above drawing in pre-hospital days from a photograph of Maddie enjoying a break on the rocks at Hidden Falls, Hanging Rock State Park. I can’t believe that in just a week, she will “graduate” from 5th grade.  I’m not sure I’m ready for my youngest child to be going off to Middle School. 🙁

But then again, it is a beautiful thing to watch your children grow up. To see what wonderful human beings they are and are becoming. Her dad and I marvel at how this jolly infant girl has become such a lovely, kind, and creative young girl. Enjoy the slide show of some drawings and paintings I’ve made of her over the years:

This post nearly brought tears to my eyes. I’m amazed at just how quickly my own boys are growing and they are just two…I can’t imagine having your youngest as a middle-schooler! Lucky for Maddie that her mom has recorded all these memories throughout the years. Such an inspiration for me!

Oh thank you Suzanne! Between you and Edgar, you will probably have many drawcumented memories! It does feel like its all gone by in a blink. But the drawings are places where I savored it. All the best to you Suzanne!

Great slideshow. I remember seeing some of these after you’d drawn and painted them. Time really passes so quickly it seems. The milestones point it out too well yet who can’t keep looking forward to the future? Hope she enjoys middle school!

awwwww…kids grow up so fast…wayyyyy too fast, and my nieces are so big now they probably won’t even want me to carry them around anymore when I get back. Love the drawings 🙂
