It’s been too long!!

The end of the school year always proves to be busier than the Christmas season. I’ve been to two field days, two “graduations” (one from 5th grade and one from 8th grade), taught several crochet and knitting classes and workshops, gone out of town for a weekend with the hubby (for him to cycle 102 miles of steep mountains), and have just returned from a week at the beach with my husband’s family: parents, aunts and uncles, and several young cousins. I now feel like I need a vacation. I have been knitting though…something switched over in me from crochet to knitting. And I’ve also been having trouble sticking to a pattern. I started a simple summer wrap and ended up designing something completely different! It bugs me that I can’t show you these creations…so I’m working on a website to offer my designs in the form of downloadable PDF files to purchase through Paypal. I’ll let you know, of course, when this happens, and I’ll have the website accessible through my blog and vice versa.
Here’s a little something I have knitted for a dear friend of mine who has just recently had baby number ONE at the age of 42! I will finally be able to meet her at a baby shower next weekend, so I wanted to have something sweet and soft to give her. The bolero is from Leigh Radford’s One Skein, and the hat is from Joelle Hoverson’s Last Minute Knitted Gifts. I used Bernat Cotton Tots for both of them, a great alternative to Mission Falls cotton which is also wonderful, but I did not have any on hand. I also have another design I’m working on with Patagonia cotton (to-die-for yarn) and maybe you’ll get to see that one day. I hope it won’t take me so long to post again…then again, it’s summer and there’s always a lot going on!
