About a month ago, I ordered and received a terrific book which has inspired me to “just play”, to branch out of my normal, well-loved ruts, and try some different mediums and ways to draw and play. This book is titled One Drawing a Day by Veronica Lawlor, one of my favorite reportage artists of the fabulous group of illustrators from the One Drawing a Day blog.
It’s subtitle is: A 6-week Course, Exploring Creativity with Illustration and Mixed Media. Though I haven’t been working through it in “course” fashion, I have enjoyed jumping around and being inspired by the different entries and examples. You should read the introduction Veronica wrote to the book…click here. Whether you are a seasoned artist or just starting to put pencil or pen to paper in drawings, you will LOVE this book for it’s freeing call to draw “without judging the result”.
We ALL need that!
Fun! =)
Thanks for sharing! I love your ‘play’ drawing and I’ve added the book to my Amazon wish list 🙂
Well, I put this book on my wishlist when you mentioned it to me earlier. It certainly does sound interesting! Love this page; it does speak of having fun!
Will definitely check it out, Thank you.
