Love Passed Down

Speaking of making things for our children…here is a lovely knitted sweater my mom made for me when I was a young girl. I think I’ve only made two things in the fair isle technique…I can’t imagine a whole sweater out of it. The wool is brightly colored and has held up really well. I look forward to my youngest daughter being able to wear it next year. We laughingly talk about how my mom got reacquainted with her inner knitter two winter’s ago…and boy has she made some lovely, intricate, beautiful things for herself and her family. My sister’s baby girl has a gorgeous fair isle sweater mom knitted just recently…love passed down the generations through yarn and needle arts.
