Oak Island 2013

I just got back from a lovely week at the beach with my husband’s family! We always have a marvelous time of sun, sand, good food, and fellowship! Do you remember the video I made from last year’s drawings? I recently realized that it has been removed from YouTube…I have no idea why!! Both of my drawing videos were removed. I’m working on uploading them again to a different space. I’ll let you know when I have them up again.

The above slideshow is of drawings I made while at the beach this week. Each morning I sat on the deck to sip coffee, think & write, and draw.

There was also a lot of this going on…

But in between knitting and drawing, I got to enjoy my oldest daughter as we walked on the beach and shopped in Southport. My husband and I also celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary on the 25th of June! I can’t believe it! I’m looking forward to the next 25 years with this man, drawn here in charcoal with our youngest daughter Maddie:

Youtube has had all sorts of problems recently with videos vanishing and having to be uploaded again several times. Some people say its fixed now, but it has taken a couple of weeks of hard work to replace what was lost.
Your holiday sounds wonderful, and congratulations on 25 years, its an achievement! May there be many more celebrations!

Congratulations on your anniversary! The drawings are lovely and I am so glad you had a good time. There is a seaside town called Southport about 15 miles away from where I live in the UK but I live nearer to Liverpool. : )

Oooh, Happy Anniversary! How wonderful you got to spend time with your oldest daughter while on vacation. Love your drawings. I look at the complexity of them and wonder if you start in pencil but it really looks like you dive in with pen – do you just start with the nearest objects and work back? I don’t see lines crossing through objects as if added after something else.

Was it hot? I have trouble knitting when it’s hot; the yarn won’t slide through my fingers. Your wool is super pretty.

Sounds like it was a really good break after such a rough springtime!
