Paint Elsewhere

Besides a sketchbook, you can paint on canvas…

…or on wood…

…or on a birdhouse made of wood…

…that has been sitting around your house for years…

…but was painted an ugly green all over. I like it much better now. Don’t you?

I am now eyeing a piece of furniture in my house.

It could be the next target for the acrylics.

But I’d have to buy A LOT more paint! 🙂

Inside each of us are places we long to be. They are very real locations and yet they do not exist in the real world. These “landscapes” beckon us to walk there, sit and muse, rest and dream. We’ve had hints of these places whispered to us in nature, on our travels, in our back yards. They do exist somewhere…perhaps over the rainbow. We need a physical reminder that this place is waiting for us…to come home to.

These imagined landscapes are inspired by my daily walks, hikes in the woods, and my childhood in the mountains of NC. Though every sky is not blue, they are skies filled with the colors of the rainbow, reflections of an exquisite beauty for which we were made. They are all places to which I go for peace, joy, healing and inspiration. May they do the same for you.
