Toeses Are Roses?

BlueToes

As I drew my feet in these sketches made within a few days of each other, I realized that feet really aren’t the most attractive part of the human body. At least mine aren’t! It reminded me of lines from a song in the movie Singing In the Rain:

“Moses supposes his toeses are Roses,
But Moses supposes Erroneously,
Moses he knowses his toeses aren’t roses,
As Moses supposes his toeses to be!”

As to the different nail polish (and yes…the first ones are in a lovely blue and the second in neon orange!:), a friend treated me to a pedicure!  It sure helps these unattractive feet seem a bit more appealing. Thanks Janice!

I find it very difficult to get a decent photo of these drawings. These are made in my Flexi-Sketch book, and, since it flexes, a shadow is cast on the other side of the page where it bends. I know, I know…I really should use a scanner, but I’d need to have one of those first. 🙂 I began the book with the idea of filling the entire thing with line drawings colored in with oil pastel or watercolor crayons. Of course, I set that down a year or so ago, and having picked it up again, I am now happily drawing just in black fine liner pen 08. Well, a touch of color, of course!

P.S. I’m sporting new sandals that are oh so comfortable! I’ve worn Birkenstocks for years and years and though I haven’t any plans to stop wearing my favorite Birks, these are nice for a change. Got’em at Kohl’s.

P.P.S. I am not tan. Instagram filters can give you a tan! My feet are, alas, pasty white. 🙁 Hence the need for toenail polish!

I like the line drawings with just a touch of color. It’s a fun theme for a journal. I don’t think feet or toes look as strange as arms sticking out our shoulders. For some reason that is what seems oddly shaped to me.
