Weeds

I do allow for weeds to exist in my life…but I have to watch! They can easily choke out the flowers! I think of “weeds” as all the little things we do in life that aren’t crucial to the stuff we want to see GROW.  My family, art & friends are all flowers I want to see flourish…so anything that I want and need to do to encourage that flourishing is the bedrock of the garden of life.  But there’s so much else that gets crammed in there, in between all the flowers, that seems to take over!

What’s that thing called, a “weed eater”?  That’s what I need.  I don’t want to get rid of them all, just enough of them so I can breathe!

You speak of weeds – yet your beautiful drawing is of flowers. Many of the weeds I have seen have been flowers. I have a friend from Iowa. One day my wife mentioned sunflowers and how beautiful they were. He responded that in Iowa they are considered to be weeds. There. It is a thin line. Let them grow!

Yes, let them grow…but not too many! They have an irksome tendency to take over everything else! Most of the weeds in my life are pretty little things, but not the substantial structure of the garden. Perhaps I need a separate garden JUST FOR WEEDS!:)

I remember when I was little, I used to think that I could never grow taller than those weed. =) This drawing reminds me of that. I really like the colors used here, for miss cutey, everything has to be colorful! ^^

I remember stomping down the weeds along with my sisters when we were young to make rooms for a pretend house. Weeds were so easy to manipulate for our own use back then. They are a bit more difficult now.
