ME LOVE COOKIES COLOR!! Yummy, juicy, vibrant, sparkly, unexpected, eat-it-with-a-spoon color! Can you tell? Just a little bit?
I’m not sure what’s more fun: 1) sitting outdoors painting while feeling the sun and breeze, hearing the birds sing and the leaves rustle; 2) watching the colors come alive while working on a previously watercolored surface; or 3) aiming to put down “blocks of color” in hopes that they make sense in the end, and then finding that they do!
This and the previous post’s painting are a smidge larger than 8″ x 10″…and when I crop these I like showing you a bit of the edges so you can see some of the colors underneath. The underpainting is totally random! Which makes the painting process quite exciting as you see how things begin to work together that you had not necessarily planned. If you click on the image to enlarge it, perhaps you can tell the areas where no pastel has been laid in…I left small areas of watercolor showing through because it was the perfect color and made the pastel around it sparkle.
What a great word=SPARKLE!
Oh, and here’s a previous post I just now found…the watercolor version of the same view! The title of the post is the same as my next post…hmmm. Must branch out to paint other pastures:).
Gorgeous colors and beautiful light!

They Are yummy colors! I love this one. nancy
Colours to make your mouthwater! I’d love to see an underpainting before you go over the top, it sounds an interesting process.
It’s a good thing these don’t have as many calories as the cookies because I just can’t get enough!
OH WOW!!! I love this!
This is really gorgeous!
Enjoying your paintings and hearing of their process. Love all the color too.
