Tapestry weaving is so captivating and requires my full attention over a long period of time. I typically work in small formats to enable me to create the backlog of images I long to weave into being. Here are some of my tapestries, both in process and completed. From time to time I exhibit some of the tapestries and offer them for sale. I no longer work on the large Ashford Tapestry Loom, preferring my handmade pipe loom for its versatility and the ability to disassemble it and stow it away as I spin more yarn and draw my life. Tapestry weaving is simply captivating as I attempt to translate an image onto a grid surface using yarn as paint. I still scratch my head in wonder as to why this peaks my curiosity so much! I suppose it is much like Degas says about art: “…I have spoken to the most intelligent people about art, and they have not understood; but among people who understand, words are not necessary, you say humph, he, ha and everything has been said.ā
