Lemme Tell Ya A Story…

Lemme tell ya a story ’bout a man named Randy

A small town pastor whose life was pretty dandy,

He told his congregation if they learnt the Apostle’s Creed…

Then they could throw a pie in his face…strawberry please!

*****

For real. This has happened once before and he’s doing it again! He sat in a chair outside, one fine day, with a black garbage bag over his neck and body to catch some of the sticky-sweet goo. Kids who had memorized the 10 commandments and could recite them to him, got to pick a pie, blueberry, strawberry, or apple I think, with Cool Whip on top, and throw it at him. It looks like he “caught” this one, quite literally, in his hand. But others he caught right in the kisser! The sketch looks a bit frightening…but then so did he, after it was all over.  Now he’s got them learning the Apostle’s Creed; and adults (who say they are just grown up kids!) are wanting in on it too! We’ll see…

*Here’s another story about my goofy husband.

Note: I wanted the white of the paper to read as the Cool Whip. There was lots of Cool Whip. Lots. And Strawberry. And Blueberry. Oi!

They loved it Mary! Randy did too actually. I don’t think he would do it again if he didn’t find some enjoyment in it! 🙂

I was trying to sing it but singing isn’t my strong suit. As for the Apostle’s Creed, being Catholic, we recite it every Sunday so most of us know it but the 10 Commandments? Hmmm, probably most of us know most of them and sad to say, most of us have probably broken one or two in our lifetime. Perhaps we should get the pies thrown at us?

Ha! Interesting thought! Thank goodness we have Someone who took all the pies we deserved on Himself! Love all your comments Timaree! Thanks for visiting!

Love the painting! Love that your sweet hubby has come up with a “sweet” way to learn the Apostle’s Creed and 10 Commandments! That is awesome. I think I’ll mention it to our Youth Pastor and see what he says. Thanks for the inspiration.
